 Biographies


Katie Bailey Waller -  fiddler from Enterprise, was classically trained on the viola and violin, but now is having great fun fiddling!!! She attends the Wednesday Tunes old time jams and is interested in learning all styles of folk music. Katie won 2nd place in the Old Time Fiddle Music Championship 1999 and Twin Fiddling at the State Folk Festival in White Springs. She teaches beginning fiddle students at the Sunshine State Acoustic Music Camp in St. Petersburg each year and workshops at the Will McLean Festival and recently at the Florida State Fiddler's Convention.  She also plays with Jackson Creek String Band and now and then steps back into the "viola life" to play string quartet programs.


Peter Easton - Orange City, is the founder of "Southern Jubilee" and has performed folk music across Florida for the last 20+ years.   Originally from Niagara Falls, NY, Pete toured college coffee houses in western NY and CT during the Spring and Fall and spent winters entertaining in Florida.   Now permanently settled in Orlando, Pete performs at various "Friends of Florida Folk" venues and most recently has developed an interest in "old time" Appalachian mountain music.    He is multi-instrumentally talented playing banjo, guitar, mandolin, and recently has added old time fiddle to his collection. He sings as well, bringing some of his own songs to the performance.

Sandy Meloon from Orlando is a charter member of Jackson Creek String Band and is now the bassist for Southern Jubilee as well.  You'll enjoy watching her dance with "Big Daddy Bass!" You will hear Sandy's award winning original songs with Jackson Creek as she takes the vocal lead to perform "St. John's River" and "My Heritage." Joe Waller - guitar player from Enterprise, brings solid rhythm guitar to the group as well as providing wonderful vocals as needed. His background in bluegrass and folk music, and special interests in cowboy songs and sing-alongs draw audiences into the performances making for shared good times!  Joe also leads the "FiddleFolkGrass" string band Jackson Creek which performs throughout the area for festivals, parties and community events.  Write to Joe for more information about the Jackson Creek String Band.
