Sandy Meloon...

"My musical heritage dates back to when I was five years old when my family would gather around the piano on Sunday afternoons and sing old time gospel hymns.  Daddy sang lead and I sang alto while my brother ,Wiley,  played the piano and sang bass.  As a child, Wiley started playing the ukulele then graduated to a Sears Roebuck guitar.  He taught me some guitar chords when I was a teen and we would rock the country.  Making a living and raising a family distracted me until 1994 when I picked up the guitar again and started writing songs.  I started playing acoustic 3/4 bass in Nov 1998 and harmonica in Nov 1999.  Big Daddy Bass and bun length hair are easily spotted at most festivals in Florida and Georgia .  My lead and harmony vocals appear to be people pleasers.  Much to the dismay of some, I also pluck a little on the banjo, mandolin, dobro, and keyboard.   At the Sertoma Old Time Championships, I received the red ribbon for playing bass then received an impromptu category blue ribbon for high-energy stage presence. "
